Health Nurse, Harris House Health Clinic and Cowichan Valley
Primary responsibilities include: health nursing (provision of HIV, STI pre/post test counseling and support), mobile outreach, regional support for secondary supply distribution, and harm reduction education for at-risk individuals, service delivery and community partners.
Qualifications: RN or RN with Bachelor in Arts registrated in the Province of BC, BCCDC certified to perform STI testing, clinical skills, previous experience working within a harm reduction philosophy, demonstrated client-centered planning and intervention skills; 2 years experience working with clients coping with addiction and mental health concerns. A combination of experience and education will be considered. Use of a personal vehicle, and a satisfactory criminal record check are mandatory. 3. Stays up to date on services and supports in designated CVI communities to make appropriate referrals as needed.
4. Knowledgeable and consistently implements NARSF Programs policies and procedures.

Sexual Abuse Intervention Program-Therapist
NARSF Programs is recruiting for a qualified individual for the Sexual Abuse Intervention Program. Working 29 hours a week with families, caregivers, referring clinicians and community systems, the therapist will provide clinical sessions within a family and multidisciplinary team environment. The overall goal of community-based SAIP is to provide a range of appropriate, timely and accessible assessment, treatment and/or support services to children and youth who have been sexually abused, and to children under the age of 12 with sexual behaviour problems.
The objectives of SAIP Program are to:
• alleviate psycho-social impairment and/or trauma-related symptoms in children and youth who have experienced sexual abuse,
• reduce the likelihood of adverse long-term consequences of child sexual abuse trauma (e.g., depression, substance misuse, etc),
• manage or reduce problematic behaviours including inappropriate sexual behaviours
• provide specialized treatment services to children with special needs (e.g., children with disabilities) who have been sexually abused.
• assist non-offending family members and significant others in supporting children/youth who have experienced sexual abuse,
• instil knowledge and skills that reduce the likelihood of future incidents of sexual abuse,
• assist the child and/or caregivers to develop an understanding of healthy sexuality, and
• as resources permit, build capacity to educate the public and the community on the prevention and early detection of child sexual abuse.

NARSF Programs is seeking families/caregivers with the ability to provide care and support to youth in need of detoxification and stabilization living in the Ladysmith area.
