Announcing Retirement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 31, 2025

Announcing the Retirement of Gordon Cote, Founder and Director of NARSF Programs Ltd

NANAIMO.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce with mixed emotion, I will be leaving NARSF Programs after 34 ½ years with the organization, March 31, 2025.

First, I want to thank all those who placed trust and confidence in me to help NARSF provide quality services over the years in this community. A hallmark of the NARSF reputation is that individuals served consistently report feeling being treated with dignity and respect by staff providing the service. Above all, this has been a key value of the organization, and to the extent I have been able to contribute to this standard, I am immensely proud of staff who have and continue to provide services of the highest standard.

Second, it has been such a great honor to lead this amazing staff group and to work with so many talented individuals in government, the health authority and within community organizations. I will treasure the relationships I’ve built with each of you and would like you to know how much I have gained personally from working with you, as we strived for a healthier community.

While I say farewell, I am thrilled to announce that Carrie Barker, Director of Services, will assume leadership of NARSF Programs. With a proven track record of fostering service excellence and a passionate commitment to enhancing the lives of those we serve, Carrie is poised to build on NARSF’s legacy and guide the organization into the next phase of development, innovation and growth.

In the coming years, I look forward to honing my “chef” skills as I plan to be more useful in the kitchen. I also plan to explore the back roads of Vancouver Island and beyond, and hope sometime we’ll meet again over a coffee on a road-less travelled. Take care, and trust the work you do, makes a difference.

With love and sincere appreciation,
Gordon / NARSF Programs
